I've read that permethrin can be toxic to humans while wet if inhaled and not good to get on bare skin (so exercise caution while spraying / during its drying period). I prefer to buy some pre-treated permethrin clothes (socks, bandanas, gaiters and a blanket I put on my dog's bed during tick seasons). I've purchased from insect shield and other companies and this really helps keep the tick count down after being outside.

No mention of beneficial nematodes? There are at least 2 strains available specifically for tick control and no negative environmental impact
