Hi Yardeners,
Jumping in to share something I’m really excited about: I’ve joined PLAN it WILD as an ecological landscaper and rewilding coach — and I’m helping build Wildr, a new tool to help people turn their yards into real habitat — for birds, butterflies, and all of us who just want more life outside our doors.
To kick things off, we’re inviting folks to join a free 12-week challenge called Less Lawn, More Life. You’ll get a Wildr Score (basically a land health checkup), weekly challenges to help improve it, and a community of people doing this work right alongside you.
At 12 p.m. ET today (May 1), we’re hosting a live kickoff webinar with Doug Tallamy — founder of Homegrown National Park and one of Heather and my biggest inspirations. He’ll be talking about why small, yard-level changes matter so much — and unveiling the Wildr Score for the very first time (!).
I’d love for you to join us.
You can sign up (for free!) at LessLawnMoreLife.com.
And don’t worry — I’m still deep in it with Heather at Design Your Wild. We’re keeping the workshops going, still writing the book, and still sending research-backed, design-forward ideas to help you bring native plants to life in your yard. Heather’s next newsletter will be in your inbox Tuesday, like always :) This is just one more way I get to keep helping bring nature back home.
Thanks, as always, for being on this wild ride with us,
Zoe
P.S. You’ll be the very first users of the Wildr Score, so pretty please take the feedback survey and let us know about any bugs, improvements, or things you’re loving and want more of.
P.P.S. We’re not doing this alone — Less Lawn, More Life is backed by a whole crew of habitat heroes, including Wild Ones, Homegrown National Park, iNaturalist, Perfect Earth Project, One Earth, and Healthy Yards. So, yeah... it’s kind of a thing.

I saw Doug Tallamy speak recently at Mt. Cuba. He remains an inspiration! I will share this program with my readership. Great idea!
Love this, Zoe!!
