Great advice, Heather! Everything was a science experiment when my girls were growing up. I actually would should “SCIENCE!” if I found something like a cicada shell, lizard, cool rock, etc.

I’d add to this advice: place a couple of bird houses in the yard, not too close together as most birds appreciate distance between themselves and neighbors. Also, a bat box can attract the mosquito-devouring critters. Both also add to the enjoyment of nature!
